Jeffrey Maggio is a research engineer with a decade of experience building instrumentation, imaging systems, and high-throughput data acquisition software and firmware. He designs PCBs and FPGA firmware, authors hardware abstraction layers and embedded Linux stacks, and has led DOE-funded projects that produced 80–160 Gbps streaming hardware and open-source control libraries. Comfortable from optics and eye-tracking instrumentation to GPU/DPDK-based lossless streaming, he bridges experimental science and production-grade engineering. At SkuTek he moved projects from SBIR research into product features, and earlier roles at Planetary Resources and RIT show a lasting interest in astrophysics and imaging science. Colleagues rely on him for end-to-end solutions that combine hardware design, real-time systems, and practical lab fabrication.
