Top SchoolJeroen Kransen is a pragmatic software engineer with 13 years of professional experience and a track record of turning ideas into working products while keeping a clear system-wide perspective. Based in Rotterdam, he has worked across public and private sectors—from rail and banking to municipal services—bringing hands-on Scala/Java expertise as a freelancer and in embedded teams. He consistently takes technical ownership, having led refactors, integrations, and large-scale conversion projects, and thrives on solving pragmatic problems like payment, identity, and data aggregation systems. Jeroen bridges full-stack concerns with an electrical engineering background, which gives him an uncommon comfort with both low-level data models and high-level architecture. He often operates in hybrid roles (consultant, in-house, freelance), which has honed his ability to deliver in time-boxed, high-accountability settings. Besides shipping production systems, he’s known for coaching teams and introducing technologies that improve maintainability and developer productivity.
