Top SchoolJeronimo Bezerra is an IT Associate Director and seasoned network engineer with over a decade of experience designing and operating large-scale academic and research networks across the Americas. Based in Miami, he leads AMPATH and AmLight engineering efforts at FIU, owning Layer 2/3 operations including BGP, OSPF, multicast, IPv6, SDN and dynamic circuits. He brings deep data center expertise from a long tenure at UFBA where he managed 33 analysts and ran heterogeneous environments spanning Cisco, Juniper, Extreme and mainframe platforms. His MSc work on LISP and active participation in IETF meetings reflect a research-informed approach to routing and IP mobility. Comfortable across server, storage, network and cloud domains, he combines hands-on deployments (large Linux clusters, OCFS2, Postfix, Apache) with strategic operational leadership. Uncommonly, his background includes practical ISP and Internet Exchange Point operations in Brazil, giving him rare end-to-end perspective from campus fabrics to international backbone peering.
