Jerry Pedersen is a Senior Software Engineer with 11 years of experience focused on modern web development, primarily using JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React and Vue, while also having backend experience in Ruby on Rails and PHP (Laravel). Currently at IKEA, he brings product-scale front-end expertise combined with practical backend understanding from both professional and academic projects. His background includes consultancy at Capgemini, tutoring Java at Malmö University, and hands-on IT support roles that developed his troubleshooting and customer-facing skills. Based in Kalmar County, Sweden, he pairs a formal Computer Science education with continuous upskilling in C#, Windows Server, and low-level languages like C—an unusual mix that helps him bridge user-facing interfaces and infrastructure concerns. Colleagues value his pragmatic approach and knack for teaching technical concepts to non-specialists.
