Top SchoolJessica Rudder is a Senior Software Engineer with 11 years of professional experience and seven years focused on building web applications in Ruby on Rails and React. At GitHub she ships user-facing features like hovercards and extended nested team permissions, and contributed backend work to the widely-used GitHub Classroom to improve LTI and Google Classroom integrations. Equally at home fixing tricky bugs and optimizing systems, she shares engineering lessons publicly through conference talks, a YouTube channel (CompChomp), and published writing. Her background in product-facing roles—from Flatiron School to LitCharts—gives her a strong sense for design, onboarding flows, and developer ergonomics, while an arts degree and long-distance running hobby surface in her thoughtful, human-centered approach to engineering.
