Senior🎓
Top SchoolJevin Maltais is a founder and engineering leader with 13 years building and scaling distributed systems, real-time data platforms, and AI-enabled products from startup scrappy MVPs to $1B+ annual transaction systems. He combines hands-on technical execution—shipping Kafka-based architectures, Meltano migrations, and SQLite performance wins—with executive-level product and people strategy as a fractional CTO and former Director of Engineering. Notable wins include revamping Clio’s Documents Portfolio for 5–10x sync speed improvements, launching an OpenTelemetry-based observability stack, and migrating Zapier’s data ingestion to Meltano to unlock hundreds of connectors. He’s currently bootstrapping TypeStream, a Terraform-like declarative tool for Kafka Streams, while helping companies put LLM and vision models into production in ways that reliably deliver business value. Known for turning messy teams into predictable delivery engines, Jevin pairs pragmatic engineering with thoughtful career frameworks that retain senior talent. Based in Ottawa, he blends startup founder grit with enterprise-grade reliability and a penchant for building tools that remove JVM and infrastructure friction for stream processing.
