Top SchoolJianyi Wang is a Senior Group Manager based in Singapore with 9 years in leadership roles and over two decades of hands-on engineering experience across precision motion control, robotics, and factory automation. He leads multidisciplinary R&D teams at ASMPT to deliver high-precision, high-speed SMT equipment and has a track record of solving cross-functional system-level challenges from motor control and kinematics to embedded test automation. Jianyi’s background includes senior roles at Nidec, Western Digital and Seagate where he shipped high-volume products and developed industry-leading vibration suppression, positioning control and signal-processing algorithms. He holds a Ph.D. in Control Theory from NTU and maintains active research ties to low-level computer vision from his MMLab affiliation, a less-obvious bridge that helps him blend advanced perception with control systems. Colleagues rely on him for technical depth in dynamics, system identification and iterative learning, and for turning difficult R&D problems into manufacturable, high-throughput solutions.
