Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolJiawei Yang is a senior software engineer with 13 years focused on database internals and cloud infrastructure, currently working on replication at MongoDB. He has deep hands-on experience across storage engines and DDL from OceanBase and systems work at VMware, complemented by research and industry internships at IBM, Huawei, and others. Trained in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon (M.S., 3.9/4.0) after an Information Engineering degree from Southeast University, he blends rigorous academic foundations with production-grade engineering. Jiawei’s background indicates a strong bias for low-level systems design and data consistency challenges, often operating at the intersection of storage, replication, and distributed systems. Based in Sunnyvale, he pairs international experience with a pragmatic approach to scaling databases for cloud environments. Colleagues would note his uncommon combination of research exposure and sustained production delivery across major database projects.
