Top SchoolJim Barritt is a Senior Staff Engineer with over 15 years of hands-on experience and two decades of leadership across teams and programmes, currently shaping engineering at Pleo and advising clients as a freelance technical consultant. He blends deep technical craftsmanship with strategic thinking, translating large-scale organisational goals into team practices, architectures and code-level decisions. Jim has led at scales up to 80 people across multiple teams and has repeatedly guided organisations on operating models, sourcing strategies and culture change. He is particularly attuned to the interplay between technical systems and the human organisations that build and run them, advocating for growth- and happiness-focused cultures to amplify delivery. With a background that spans ThoughtWorks principal roles, enterprise engagements (e.g. Land Registry, Student Loans Company) and teaching new engineers, he combines consulting rigour with practical mentoring rooted in real delivery experience.
