Top SchoolJim Liu is an engineering leader with nine years of experience building and scaling cloud-native platforms and cross-functional teams at companies including StockX, Nordstrom, and Microsoft. He blends hands-on expertise in distributed systems, real-time analytics, and automation (Kafka, Airflow, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP) with a player-coach management style that prioritizes developer experience and measurable business outcomes—his work contributed to nearly $100M GMV growth. At StockX he led high-impact catalog and discovery systems that drive the majority of buyer journeys, and at PitchBook he’s now focused on marketing platform automation and integrations like Marketo. Jim is equally comfortable leading architecture and rolling up his sleeves on code, and he’s known for building inclusive, high-performing cultures that empower engineers and managers across time zones. Outside of work he engages with startup communities as Angel Squad Seattle Lead and brings a product-minded perspective informed by prior entrepreneurial and analytics-driven roles.
