Top SchoolJim Sparkman is a Principal Data Scientist and AI engineering leader with 11 years of experience building large-scale data and embedded systems that power millions of connected devices. He has driven architecture and implementation of cloud data platforms, schema validation, caching, and privacy-aware pipelines that materially reduced OpEx and improved telemetry for product development. At Snap One he progressed from firmware rescues and embedded Linux architecture to leading data engineering for tens of millions of devices, and now brings that combined edge-to-cloud perspective to Resideo. He has hands-on expertise in ML-driven video analytics trained on synthetic data, device firmware, and cross-domain integrations (networking, power, AV), which informs pragmatic, production-ready AI solutions. A former US Army protective services sergeant, he pairs operational discipline and security-minded thinking with engineering creativity. Based in Utah, he holds degrees/certificates in device software and data analytics and is known for turning complex, failing projects into reliable, scalable products.
