Top SchoolJimmy Rivera is a software engineer and data scientist with 11 years of experience blending rigorous academic research and hands-on product engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UCLA and has translated domain expertise in modeling and high-performance computation into roles at Facebook (infrastructure/anti-scraping), Udacity, and current engineering work at Harmonic. As Co-Founder and CTO of Cachengo, he shapes storage strategy while maintaining a strong data-science mindset from prior research that accelerated ODE solutions by ~10x. Based in Puerto Rico, he pairs startup leadership with production-scale engineering, often opting for pragmatic, simple solutions to complex systems. An unusual mix of wet-lab modeling, large-scale infrastructure, and teaching (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor experience) gives him a distinctive blend of discipline, mentorship, and systems thinking.
