Top SchoolJinhao Hu is a doctoral researcher and distributed systems engineer with six years of hands-on experience building and extending cloud-native databases. He contributed significant backend features to TiKV/TiDB and related projects at PingCAP—work that includes flashback functionality, placement-driver improvements, and protocol buffer extensions—demonstrating deep expertise in Raft-based storage, region management, and resource control. Before doctoral work at MPI-SWS he shipped backend systems at PingCAP and ByteDance, blending research rigor with production-grade engineering. Comfortable navigating core storage internals and system-level APIs, he often focuses on correctness under concurrency and recoverability after failures—skills evident in his work to prevent data loss during flashback operations.
