Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolJoão Couto is a senior software engineer with nine years of experience building scalable, high-performance backend systems across Go, Java and Python. He specializes in microservices, containers, concurrency and clean architecture, routinely leading refactors and migrations of legacy services into modern, maintainable platforms. At Mercafacil he built internal libraries, a high-performance multi-tenant Mongo cache, Kafka wrappers and a reverse proxy that supports critical traffic routing and access control. His background blends industrial technical training from SENAI with a BE in Computer Engineering and research experience creating semi-automatic cephalometric detection routines for web tools. João is pragmatic about performance tuning and developer ergonomics, often delivering internal tools and frameworks that accelerate teams as much as features. Based in Bahia, Brazil, he combines hands-on coding with architectural leadership and a steady focus on knowledge sharing.
