Summary
👤
SeniorJoão Damas is a Platform Engineer with nine years of experience building and hardening developer platforms and CI/CD systems to make engineering teams faster and more reliable. Currently at Talkdesk, he architects and automates core infrastructure—from Kubernetes and Terraform to Argo and GitHub Actions—while providing 24/7 on-call support and scaling platforms for growth. He previously focused on build-and-release engineering for autonomous driving at Critical TechWorks, crafting CI pipelines and tooling with Bazel, Zuul and Python. Alongside industry work, João teaches information processing, retrieval and databases at FEUP, mentoring students and developing tools that bridge education and practice. Colleagues know him for juggling platform reliability, developer experience and teaching, and for having a knack for pragmatic automation (and occasionally being ready for a nap).
