Senior🎓
Top SchoolJoão Graça is a pragmatic Java backend developer with 9 years of experience building robust Spring-based web applications and microservices for finance, telco, insurance and maritime safety domains. He specializes in designing maintainable server-side systems backed by relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and emphasizes testing, performance and code quality using tools like JUnit, Mockito, ArchUnit and SonarQube. Comfortable working across distributed teams in Lisbon and the UK/France, he has delivered real-time payment gateways, large-volume batch services and complex domain-rich platforms such as Alfa Systems and SEPA instant transfer orchestration. His MSc in Cognitive Science and thesis on cultured negotiating agents reflect an unusual blend of technical depth and interest in human/agent interaction, which informs clear documentation and thoughtful API design. Notably, he has repeatedly stepped into hybrid roles (developer, analyst, project manager) bringing both delivery focus and process discipline to CMMI and agile environments.
