Summary
👤
SeniorJoão Silva is a Senior 3D Software Engineer with a decade of experience blending academic rigour (MSc from UNICAMP) and production-focused pipeline engineering across offline and real-time rendering. Based in Darmstadt on a German Blue Card, he’s one of the core developers behind RapidPBR and has led conversions of V-Ray/3ds Max materials to glTF and other real-time formats at scale. His toolset spans C++, Python/MaxScript automation, MaterialX, OpenUSD, CUDA/OptiX and WebGL, and he has built asset configurators and rendering pipelines for large retailers using FTrack and Chaos Cloud. Beyond shipping plugins and pipeline automation, he has a research background in ray tracing, global illumination and image analysis, giving him a strong foundation in both graphics theory and practical production constraints. Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic engineer who connects low-level graphics work with scalable DCC workflows.
