Joe Burmeister
Chief Technology Officer at Devtank Ltd
United Kingdom
Summary
👤
SeniorJoe Burmeister is a seasoned CTO and systems programmer with over two decades of hands-on experience in C, C++ and Python, primarily on GNU/Linux. He cut his teeth in the game industry—shipping tools, 3D graphics and cross-platform engine work across consoles and desktops—and brings that low-level, performance-first mindset to product engineering. A long-time Unix and open-source enthusiast, he prioritizes cross-platform development and backwards compatibility while drawing on classics like Lions and K&R for pragmatic design. Now leading technology at Devtank, he combines deep systems expertise with practical tooling experience (3DSMax/Maya plugins, SQL tooling) to deliver reliable, portable software.
