Top SchoolJoel Gerard is a seasoned technical lead and manager with nine years of formal experience and a 20+ year track record delivering cross-platform systems from mobile F2P games to ecommerce, finance, and marketing automation. Currently a Technical Lead & Manager at Google, he blends hands-on architecture and platform work with cross-discipline leadership—previously driving division-wide Unity, cloud migration, and code-sharing initiatives as Senior Director at DeNA that cut ops OPEX by over 50% and raised Unity test coverage from 0% to 60%. As a founder and CTO of a SaaS analytics startup and earlier consulting practice founder, he combines entrepreneurial product thinking with practical engineering discipline across Web, server, native OS, and mobile stacks. Known for aligning technology to business KPIs, Joel routinely brings analytics, monitoring, and measurable quality improvements into delivery processes. Based in San Francisco, he pairs deep technical breadth (Java, Node, Unity, AWS/GCP, Docker) with an operator’s focus on predictable, high-quality outcomes.
