Senior🎓
Top SchoolJoel Kek is a pragmatic technology leader and founder with 11 years of experience building high-impact digital health and public-service products from conception to global scale. As Co-Founder & CTO of Mito Health and former tech lead at GovTech Singapore, he led TraceTogether’s development—a privacy-preserving Bluetooth contact-tracing system adopted worldwide and cited extensively in academic literature. He specializes in turning research-grade ideas into reliable, maintainable systems that handle hundreds of millions of API calls and tens of millions of users while coaching teams to adopt modern engineering practices. Prior roles as first engineer at PastureMap and work on healthcare tech in Guatemala show a consistent focus on mission-driven products that improve lives. Joel combines hands-on engineering, algorithmic rigor (notably improving contact classification precision/recall by an order of magnitude), and a talent for building small, effective teams that stay customer-focused. Based in San Francisco, he pairs startup grit with public-sector scale experience to deliver evidence-based, personalized healthcare solutions.
