Senior🎓
Top SchoolJoel Small is a mental health nursing leader and entrepreneur with 12 years’ experience across CATTeams, clinical case management and acute psychiatric settings in Australia. He founded Bridges Mental Health Consultants to address gaps in NDIS clinical supports by connecting credentialed mental health nurses to clients with complex conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and severe anxiety. Joel combines frontline clinical expertise from roles at Alfred Health and Royal Darwin Hospital with a Master of Advanced Nursing Practice (Mental Health) from the University of Melbourne. His service model emphasizes practical collaboration with NDIS support coordinators, families and primary care, delivering therapy, medication management, liaison and bespoke NDIS plan review reports. Known for being accessible seven days a week across metropolitan Melbourne, he focuses on pragmatic, person-centred solutions that translate high-acuity hospital skills into community-based, capacity-building support. A detail not always obvious: his team’s roots in CATTeams give Bridges particular strength in transitioning clients from crisis care into sustained, coordinated NDIS-funded supports.
