Top SchoolJoey Baker is a Senior Engineering Manager in San Francisco with 15 years of experience building and scaling engineering organizations that consistently deliver on schedule. He has a track record of creating high-performing teams—hiring 40+ engineers, standing up 8+ teams at Discord, and leading cross-functional efforts that rebooted subscription businesses and shipped major features like App Platform and screen streaming. Comfortable operating between product, partnerships, and engineering, he has acted as product manager and general manager to drive integrations and accessibility improvements that earned community praise. Joey thrives on "building the machine that builds the machine," repeatedly turning small teams into reliable engines of innovation at startups that grew into multi-billion dollar outcomes. His background spans hands-on front-end work, ISP launches, and leadership roles across Meraki, Ubiquiti, Alto Pharmacy, and Getable, reflecting a mix of product intuition and operational rigor. Based in SF, he pairs a curious, design-minded approach (rooted in an unconventional Political Science/Communications/Photography education) with pragmatic execution at scale.
