Senior🎓
Top SchoolJohan Althoff is a product designer and senior frontend developer with 19 years of experience blending creative production and technical tooling for games and web applications. A co-founder of O3 Games (later Starbreeze), he led audio teams and built pipelines and tools that scaled to multi-title productions, then transitioned to UI/UX and frontend work for startups and major studios. He has driven early TypeScript adoption, built Qt-based native tooling, and implemented React design systems at scale with a strong emphasis on performance, accessibility and maintainability. As a freelancer he has bridged audio software (Reaper) and middleware (Wwise) with Python, and contributed to browser-compliant design systems used company-wide at Epic and Quixel. Now at Muse Group he is helping bring Audacity 4 to life, combining product design sensibility with deep hands-on engineering. His background as a sound designer gives him an uncommon empathy for creative workflows, informing pragmatic tool design that reduces cognitive load for users.
