Senior🎓
Top SchoolJohan Seland is a seasoned technical leader and staff software developer based in Oslo with over a decade of hands-on experience delivering high-performance, distributed scientific and cloud systems. He has led platform and cloud services teams at Bluware, architected the VDS seismic data format and cloud integrations, and built distributed compute tooling (MPI, Python ScaleOut) for large-scale HPC workflows. Johan pairs deep academic credentials—a PhD in applied mathematics—with practical startup experience as Managing Director EMEA at 3LC.AI, where he handled everything from incorporation and grants to SOC-2/HIPAA/GDPR compliance and product roadmapping. Known for modernizing complex build and documentation systems and for bridging research and product delivery, he excels at turning legacy scientific codebases into scalable cloud-native platforms. Outside of obvious engineering strengths, he brings editorial discipline to technical documentation and a mountaineering background that hints at persistence and pragmatic risk management.
