Top SchoolJohanne Medina is a Co-founder and CTO with 8 years of technical experience and a Master’s in Data Science and Engineering, blending full-stack engineering with applied AI research. She currently develops and deploys LLM-based educational systems at QCRI and leads product and engineering at PRONTO, a fashion-tech startup that merges her parallel nine-year runway modeling career with tech. Her background spans web and mobile apps, data engineering, IoT, NFC, AR, and FAIR-aligned research data management, with hands-on work on Cipherbot, a cross-lingual AI chatbot used in real classrooms. Johanne’s research focuses on improving LLM reliability, domain transferability, and hallucination detection, while her startup experience includes an award-winning MVP and a Best Startup in Qatar recognition. She is comfortable shipping end-to-end systems (React, FastAPI, MongoDB, ASP.NET) and translating research prototypes into production-facing products. Notably, she pairs deep technical rigor from academic research with practical product instincts honed on runways and in startup leadership.
