Senior🎓
Top SchoolJohannes Lares is a software specialist and entrepreneur based in Helsinki with nine years of hands-on experience spanning DevOps, backend development and full-stack projects. Currently advancing DevOps and Python-based tooling at CSC — IT Center for Science, he has been instrumental in CI/CD, Terraform and research data management workflows while progressing from trainee to specialist. A master’s student in computer science at the University of Helsinki (with study ties to Innsbruck), he blends academic rigor with practical delivery across JS, Python, Java and React Native. Founder of Ultra Software, he has been shipping commercial web and tooling projects since 2016 and still contributes to course instruction and developer tooling. Notably, he pairs operational cloud experience on OpenStack with application-level work on platforms like Invenio and Elasticsearch, making him fluent in both deployment and data-service concerns. His profile combines entrepreneurial initiative, steady internal promotion at a major research IT center, and a knack for turning research workflows into reproducible, automated systems.
