Top SchoolJohn Berryman is an AI consultant and author with 13 years of experience building production-grade search and LLM applications, currently advising clients through Arcturus Labs and leading AI engineering at Tribe AI. He helped ship core search and ML products at GitHub—including contributions to Copilot and chat—specializing in prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, and productionization. His background spans search infrastructure, recommendation systems, and data engineering at companies like Eventbrite and VividCortex, where he moved large-scale search stacks and built personalization pipelines. Author of two books on prompt engineering and search, he pairs rigorous engineering discipline (M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech) with practical product sensibility for real user needs. Notably, he blends deep academic rigor from early research on safety and neural methods with hands-on experience moving prototypes into high-usage production systems.
