Senior🎓
Top SchoolJohn Colgrave is a seasoned software architect with over 25 years’ experience designing and implementing messaging, transaction processing and networked systems, currently focusing on High Availability for the IBM MQ Appliance. His long tenure at IBM includes leading the WebSphere Service Registry and Repository as Chief Architect, early specification and implementation work on UDDI and one of the first integrations of Java into an application server environment. He combines deep product engineering with customer-facing proof-of-concept and SWAT-style consulting, notably on MQTT and MessageSight for connected cars and IoT. Based in Winchester, UK, he has a strong research and systems background dating back to embedded hardware and IC automation, giving him rare cross-layer perspective from silicon to enterprise middleware. Though primarily a product engineer, his GitHub biography reflects ongoing focus on IBM MQ development rather than public open-source prominence.
