Top SchoolJohn Costa is an engineering manager and veteran software architect with over a decade of hands-on experience building cloud-native platforms, specializing in eventing, streaming, and GitOps-driven automation. At WEX he leads the strategy and delivery of Kafka-based eventing as part of a PaaS Fabric, balancing operational excellence, governance, and developer enablement while growing high-performing teams. His work has driven measurable platform improvements—boosting availability and developer productivity while slashing pipeline runtimes—and he remains an active contributor with over a thousand code interactions in recent years. Comfortable shifting between people leadership and deep technical execution, he writes Go, Python, and Terraform and has designed EKS architectures and AWS account stewardship practices. Based in Standish, Maine, he brings a pragmatic, metrics-driven approach to making complex systems reliable and easy to consume. A detail-oriented problem-solver, he pairs engineering rigor with cross-organizational collaboration to align platforms with business and regulatory needs.
