Top SchoolJohn Gao is a Senior Software Engineer at Spotify with seven years of experience building data-driven systems and ad measurement products. He has led design and implementation of campaign management features and migrated critical mobile measurement tooling (SKAN 3.0→4.0), reducing manual work and improving lifecycle automation across teams. Prior roles at Coursera and TD underscore his expertise in building robust pipelines for marketing analytics, partner integrations, and high-volume streaming systems while keeping costs and on-call noise down. Based in New York, he pairs a dual background in Computer Science and Commerce from Queen’s with hands-on microservice and API development that directly impacts advertiser measurement and reporting. He’s equally comfortable shipping consumer-facing endpoints as he is improving core libraries used by multiple downstream teams, showing a pragmatic focus on reliability and cross-team enablement.
