Top SchoolJohn Haller is a founder and lead engineer with over two decades of experience building and scaling consumer-focused software, best known for creating PortableApps.com and growing it to millions of users and over a billion downloads. He combines hands-on full‑stack development (JavaScript, Python, PHP, SQL, .NET) with product leadership, managing international teams of developers and translators across distributed tooling like GitHub and Slack. Comfortable shipping everything from launch menus and updaters to CMS-driven communities, he pairs technical craftsmanship with strong communication and empathetic people management. His background includes building high‑volume ecommerce and event platforms, enterprise web frameworks, and extensive technical documentation (500+ pages). Based in New York, he blends entrepreneurial grit with a long track record of press-recognized software and community outreach. Less obvious: he routinely resolves interpersonal and directional conflicts to keep volunteer and professional contributors aligned and productive.
