Summary
John Huxter is an experienced neuroscience leader with over a decade of industry and academic experience translating electrophysiology, behavioural assays and biomarker development into drug discovery programs. As Associate Director and Cognition Lead at Transpharmation, he directs cognition strategy and scientific liaison work, building scalable behavioural and electrophysiological assays for translational neuroscience. His background includes senior roles at Eli Lilly and Pfizer where he led PK/PD assay development, high-throughput electrophysiology analysis and platform validation for pain, psychiatric and neurodegenerative projects. Trained with a PhD from UCL and an MSc in Behavioral Neuroscience, he combines hands-on assay design (large-scale neuronal recordings, multi-electrode array analysis) with team leadership and industry–academic collaboration. Notably, he has practical experience developing bespoke hardware/software solutions (e.g., multi-colour tracking and large-scale recording pipelines) that bridge preclinical readouts to translational biomarkers.
