Senior🎓
Top SchoolJohn Iacona is a software engineer with 11 years of full‑stack experience who now splits his time between freelance contracting and running Outbloom, a regenerative cut‑flower farm in Lampeter, Wales. He brings deep practical expertise in Ruby, Java, Python, React, and containerized/cloud architectures, having shipped production features and integrations for startups and institutions including Kew and Blocktype. Comfortable moving between front‑end UX work (Typescript/React/Next.js) and backend systems on AWS and Kubernetes, he’s delivered both user‑facing tools and logistics/warehouse backend improvements. His unusual blend of artisanal farming and engineering means he approaches systems design with a seasonal, sustainability-minded perspective that informs pragmatic tradeoffs.
