Co-Founder at VESTA Social Innovation Technologies
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Summary
👤
SeniorJohn Kost is a seasoned technology leader and Chief Innovation Officer with over a decade of experience building large-scale platforms that drive measurable social impact. Based in Toronto, he co-founded VESTA Social Innovation Technologies and leads LVS AI to deploy technology solutions that scale volunteerism and other civic services. His background spans industrial automation and robotics—co-inventing a vision-guided heavy-lift system for steel mills—to modern platform architecture for non-profits, showing a rare blend of hardware-level systems engineering and mission-driven software design. Known as a "code maker, code breaker," he combines hands-on technical depth with strategic product vision to turn complex social problems into practical, deployable systems. An unconventional detail: his career threads continuous work with both enterprise automation stacks (Siemens, industrial controls) and agile social-impact platforms, enabling robust, production-ready solutions across very different domains.
