Top SchoolJohn Maguire is a Senior Software Engineer based in Boston with 12 years of experience building full-stack web applications and platform features across React/Redux, Node.js, Java, and AWS. He has driven customer-facing products from concept to production—most recently architecting Shopify tracking pages, a no-code editor, and extensible APIs while introducing CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment verification. John has a strong track record modernizing legacy systems and migrating services to scalable cloud architectures, having led microservices, Docker, and VPC migrations and AWS migrations proofs-of-concept. He pairs product-focused front-end work (React interfaces and micro-frontends) with backend security and operational practices like role-based API permissions and encrypted settings. Known for mentoring engineers and collaborating directly with customers, he blends pragmatic engineering with a curiosity for new tech and tooling. An early maker and open-source hobbyist, he also built home automation projects and contributed novel demos that won community recognition.
