Top SchoolJohn Marquard is a Senior Software Engineer based in Greater Sydney with 11 years building production systems across fintech, enterprise SaaS, and event-scale operations. He blends backend engineering, integrations and devops—especially AWS and cloud-native tooling—with data-driven solutions from his Data Science training, having built LMS integrations, monitoring/alerting platforms and marketing-to-sales data pipelines. John pairs hands-on technical delivery with cross-functional leadership: he led engineering teams at Employsure, drove major platform projects, and oversaw a 250+ person volunteer organisation as Board Director of SMASH Inc, helping grow attendance 25% and revenue 45% in one year. Comfortable from embedded systems to serverless architectures, he has a pragmatic focus on reliability, automation and measurable business impact. A detail not immediately obvious: his mix of convention-scale operations and fintech production systems gives him rare experience in both high-throughput event logistics and regulated financial backends.
