Top SchoolJohn-mathew Sonke is a freelance software consultant and systems engineer based in Montreal with nearly a decade of experience building secure, user-focused web applications and internal portals. He specializes in front-end development with Vue.js and React, API design, and full project lifecycles—frequently owning UX, requirements engineering, and deployment on AWS or Azure as a senior contractor. His background spans payments platforms, NLP research, and internal security tooling, combining practical backend work in Python and PostgreSQL with polished frontend component libraries. A strong advocate for data privacy and FOSS, he brings disciplined API practices and CI-driven workflows to improve reliability and maintainability. Colleagues rely on him to translate non-technical requirements into elegant, usable interfaces and to lead small agile teams to delivery. Notably, he has applied machine-learning techniques to parliamentary transcript analysis and presented those methods to the local Python community.
