Top SchoolJohn Mccabe is a Principal Software Engineer based in Dublin with over 20 years of cross-disciplinary experience spanning cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), M365, security, and networking. He currently leads sovereign cloud and common resource provider platform efforts at Microsoft, blending hands-on prototyping with architecture and interim engineering leadership at cloud scale. Known for translating ambiguous, high-risk problems into pragmatic technical solutions, he has driven customer-facing Azure architecture, authored internal whitepapers, and presented deep-dive engineering training across compute, networking, and storage. His background combines field engineering, pre-sales consulting, and program management, giving him rare empathy for both enterprise operators and core product teams. Recently augmented by postgraduate study in cloud computing and a Masters in software design, he pairs continual learning with a track record of turning research and simulation work (including software-defined radio and mission engineering) into production-grade systems.
