Top SchoolJohn Mccaulley is a Staff Software Engineer with nine years of experience designing and operating cloud-native microservices, currently driving platform work at Walmart Global Tech. He specializes in Java ecosystems—Spring, Kafka, Cassandra—and has led GraphQL data orchestration and federation efforts, migrating services from in-house infrastructure to Kubernetes with automated canary deployments. As a tech lead he’s balanced architecture, testing automation and operational resiliency across high-throughput systems, and contributes to the GraphQL community and open source projects. Based in Manassas, VA, he pairs hands-on coding with pragmatic system design and a history of mentoring teams through large-scale transitions. An unexpected thread in his background is early IT and help-desk work that gave him durable operational instincts and a user-focused perspective.
