Top SchoolJohn-paul Herold is a seasoned technology leader with 12 years of experience building cloud-native platforms and scaling engineering organizations; he currently serves as Vice President of Engineering at Sembi after leading developer platforms and cloud security at Southwest Airlines. He specializes in treating platforms as products—driving developer experience, continuous delivery, observability, and security to support thousands of engineers and millions of pipeline runs monthly. Known for pragmatic DevOps culture change, he blends hands-on infrastructure expertise (Kubernetes, Prometheus, AWS) with executive alignment to improve reliability and throughput. Outside of work he enjoys hands-on projects—customizing Linux and audio setups—and brings that maker mindset to systematic problem solving and team collaboration.
