Top SchoolJohn Pitchko is a senior software engineer and engineering manager with 10+ years of experience building full-stack, data-informed products for startups and large enterprises across fintech, e-commerce, education, and oil & gas. Currently at Chord Commerce he helps design a headless, API-first commerce platform while also leading engineering at SureSwift Capital on fintech products using Ruby on Rails and modern JS stacks. He combines hands-on development with program and product leadership—previously scaling academic programs as an Associate Dean and delivering multi-million-dollar global IT projects at Shell. Known for pragmatic architecture, customer-focused integrations (Stripe, Segment, Customer.io) and mentoring distributed teams, he repeatedly turns complex domains into scalable, operational software. Based in Calgary, he brings a mix of startup agility and corporate rigor, plus an unusual hobbyist’s drive to build things end-to-end—from APIs to kitchen backsplashes.
