Top SchoolJohn Sharratt is a reform-oriented technology executive with 10+ years leading large-scale infrastructure, security and hybrid cloud transformations for global banks, currently serving as Global Chief Network and Security at Standard Chartered. He combines board-level strategy and multi-million euro budget stewardship with hands-on engineering — from detailed design reviews to CI/CD standardisation and automated security control prescription. His career includes defining hybrid cloud and zero-privilege architectures at ING and driving one of the largest Azure DevOps rollouts, demonstrating a rare ability to translate enterprise strategy into automated, auditable platforms. An active open-source coder by night, he maintains deep technical breadth (down to transistor-level understanding) and advanced knowledge in post-quantum cryptography and DevSecOps. Calm in crisis, he’s chaired multiple architecture boards and seeded long-lived practices that continue to shape global platform engineering.
