Top SchoolJohn Shojaei is a Senior Data Engineer based in Seattle with 11 years of experience building scalable data platforms and productionizing ML models at large enterprises like Amazon and Ingram Micro. He combines hands-on systems engineering—designing distributed search systems and cutting cloud costs by over 40%—with mentorship of junior data practitioners. Comfortable across the stack, he has led migrations, optimized storage/network architectures, and implemented robust data-sharing and backup solutions early in his career as a consultant and IT manager. An MBA in Business Analytics complements his technical background, enabling him to translate business requirements into efficient, auditable data products. Colleagues know him for a pragmatic, metrics-driven approach summed up by his favorite motto: "In God we trust; all others bring data."
