Top SchoolJohn Thywissen is a technology consultant and software engineer with 17 years of experience delivering strategic technology and business solutions across enterprises, currently advising clients at Ab Initio Software while running his own consultancy, Objective:pi LLC. He pairs deep computer science and software engineering expertise with hands-on academic research—having been a long-term PhD candidate and graduate researcher at UT Austin—and practical program leadership from senior roles at EDS. Based in Austin, he uniquely blends technical instruction (former university instructor), programming languages research, and real-world systems delivery. An active pilot and chief flight instructor, he brings disciplined risk management and procedural thinking to complex engineering problems. His background spans research stints at JPL to enterprise transformation, reflecting an uncommon mix of academic rigor, consulting breadth, and operational mindset.
