Senior🎓
Top SchoolJohn Weidner is a seasoned mobile-focused software engineer with over two decades of experience and 11 years in senior roles building cross-platform apps and web services. He co-founded and still operates UserBob, a remote user-testing service serving thousands of customers, and has run StudyStack since 2002, growing it to millions of users with automated learning activities and a mobile app. Skilled in Flutter, JavaScript, JSP/servlets, PhoneGap and native Android, he has led architecture and shipping of production apps for museums, retail, and HVAC tool integrations, including Bluetooth beacon and indoor navigation work. Currently an Engineer III at Very Good Ventures, he blends product-minded freelancing with enterprise consulting, having set up a major insurer’s first Flutter app and modernized museum experiences. Notably, he pairs long-term product ownership with hands-on implementation—from business planning and UX testing to low-level integration—so he’s equally comfortable iterating features and maintaining legacy systems.
