👤
SeniorJohn Willis is an enterprise IT veteran and founder with over three decades of hands-on systems and infrastructure experience, now focused on helping CIOs adopt AI through his newsletter AI CIO and R&D work at Botchagalupe Technologies. He has led transformation and developer-ecosystem efforts at companies including Red Hat, Docker, and Canonical, and founded or sold multiple startups that brought DevOps and network automation to market. Known for bridging deep technical craftsmanship (from IBM mainframe assembler days) with modern cloud-native practices, he repeatedly turns operational complexity into repeatable platforms. His blend of executive leadership, startup founding, and short-form research roles (e.g., Distinguished Researcher at Kosli) gives him a unique perspective on pragmatic AI adoption and IT transformation. Based in Auburn, Alabama, he combines a long history of product and service innovation with a current focus on translating AI strategy into executable plans for enterprises.
