Top SchoolJon Mcpherson is a Senior Software Engineer in Seattle with 11+ years building full-stack, distributed, and data-driven systems across startups and large enterprises. He blends hands-on backend expertise in Java/Scala, Kafka, Spark and NoSQL with practical experience shipping microservices and realtime pipelines at Expedia and Iterable. As co-founder of Soulfire Software he built a geospatial augmented mobile game, a geographic data pipeline, and a custom real-time audio service for Minecraft servers—demonstrating a knack for mixing big data, GIS, and game development. Comfortable across the stack, he has also designed core Scala libraries, automated Spark deployments, and modeled complex distributed data stores. His background in information systems management and early work on 3D web tooling for enterprise sales illustrates a consistent pattern of turning spatial and streaming complexity into usable products.
