Top SchoolJon Stokes is a seasoned founder and technologist with 11 years of professional engineering experience and a long history of building and editing influential tech media. He co-founded Ars Technica while in grad school and later sold it to Condé Nast, blending deep technical roots (BSEE in Computer Engineering) with humanities training (M.Div./Th.M. and Ph.D. work), which informs his clear, audience-focused product and editorial instincts. Based in Austin, he has oscillated between hands-on startup roles—now co-founding Symbolic.ai—and editorial leadership at outlets like The Prepared and TheNetworkState.com. Comfortable shipping software and shaping content, he brings an unusual mix of engineering rigor, storytelling, and community-building to early-stage ventures.
