Senior🎓
Top SchoolJon Venås is a Senior Research Scientist with a decade of experience applying rigorous mathematics and physics to industrial problems, currently focusing on energy system analysis at the Institute for Energy Technology. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from NTNU, where his thesis advanced isogeometric analysis for acoustic scattering, and has since extended that expertise into CFD and scientific visualization for applications like weather forecasting. Jon has a track record of translating sophisticated numerical methods for partial differential equations into practical tools and models used in energy research. Comfortable moving between deep theory and applied engineering, he brings both academic rigor and hands-on implementation experience to multidisciplinary teams in Trondheim. An understated strength is his ability to leverage visualization to make complex model results interpretable for stakeholders.
