Top SchoolJonah Greenthal is a senior full-stack engineer with 12 years of experience building production systems for startups and mission-driven organizations, currently at Backblaze after a long tenure as owner and lead developer at National Academic Quiz Tournaments. He designs and implements end-to-end platforms—registration, results, CRMs, and content-editing tools—using a primary stack of Spring Boot/Kotlin, Postgres, and React, and has migrated services to AWS and maintained infrastructure across cloud platforms. Jonah blends product sense with operational rigor, having improved booking conversion by 50% at Fixer, launched an online game during COVID-19 to sustain community engagement, and led teams through major site redesigns. His background in mathematics and analytics (B.S., University of Chicago) and early data work at Facebook inform a data-driven approach to feature and experiment design. He favors readable, generalizable code and has built custom ORMs, message-queue architectures, and numerous third-party integrations to solve real operational problems. Colleagues rely on him for pragmatic, maintainable solutions that balance security, scalability, and the user experience.
